Welcome to my new website.

My photos are grouped into four galleries:

  • Latest

I do take and post random photographs but I intend to work mostly on projects / mini projects - so those will usually be the subject matter of the ‘Latest’ gallery.

The current ‘Latest’ gallery is a record of a city break I took to Krakow, Poland, in late September 2023. Krakow is a beautiful city with a very interesting and, sometimes dark, history. This is particularly true during WW2.

The photographs are of the city of Krakow itself (mainly the old town district and the Jewish quarter). There are also some taken during tours of Oskar Schindler’s factory (yes, that Oskar Schindler) and a visit to the concentration / extermination camps at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Incidentally, the Nazi ‘hat’ shown in the ‘Latest’ gallery belonged to Amon Goeth, the commandant of the Krakow-Plaszow concentration camp. Goeth was historical figure played by Ralph Fiennes in the film ‘Schindler’s List’. Goeth was executed on 13 September 1946 for the war crimes he committed.
